The ash catcher is made from sheesham wood. Sheesham wood (Indian Rosewood) is a hardwood indigenous to India. It is hand made in India and has been decorated with a brass inlay pattern. There a hole at one end to put an incense stick in and a groove down the middle to catch the ash. The sheesham wood has been waxed to bring out the natural colour and grain and to give it a semi gloss finish.
